Welcome

Welcome to Twinfinite Love. I hope that my periodic entries shed some light on the sometimes chaotic, but always joyful day-to-day shenanigans that come with raising twins. I can assure you, our life is never boring, and I have the blog to prove it.

He's Finally Here

I have admired my sister for many years. Even as a child, I saw the strength of her spirit and fortitude to stick to her convictions. As an adult, I have seen additional qualities that make me respect and admire her. She is honest, trustworthy, and intelligent. She is also nurturing, thoughtful, and a kick in the pants to be around. She is one of my most trusted confidants, and the profound bond we share as sisters is a connection that I cherish deeply. I wouldn't be the woman I am without her influence in my life.

As a big sister, I used to think of myself as a role model for my little sister. And perhaps as kids that is how the roles unfolded simply because I was the older sibling. But, through many experiences and circumstances in our adult years, it is clear that my little sister is also role model for me, and worthy of all the praise and admiration I have in my soul to bestow upon her.

One of those circumstances occurred last weekend. With a delivery that shocked us all with its speed, my first nephew made his dramatic entrance into the world, four days after his due date. My sister's courage and strength shined brightly through the chaos of his arrival, and her true nature was illustrated. She was truly a superwoman, and our family was blessed with the addition of another healthy, beautiful baby boy.

Seven days later, the new family of four is adjusting to life with two children and relishing the first week with their sweet newborn. Addy and Asher have been chomping at the bit to visit their new cousin. I've shown them photos and told them all about his ten toes and head of dark hair. They can hardly wait to see him! However, Asher came down with a cold Monday night, and I did not want him to be within coughing distance of Brooks. Hopefully, Asher will be cough-free again soon, and he and Addy can bring their new cousin the gift they've been dying to give him.

I love you, Sissy, and I am so proud of you. Thanks for making me an Aunt Sissy again. I will treasure spending time with my new nephew, just as I do with my niece, and I will enjoy watching the little guy grow up and become the person he is destined to be.

Welcome to the world, baby Brooks! We're thrilled you have joined our family, and glad you didn't rush any faster than you did making your grand appearance.

Proud Aunt Sissy:
