Welcome

Welcome to Twinfinite Love. I hope that my periodic entries shed some light on the sometimes chaotic, but always joyful day-to-day shenanigans that come with raising twins. I can assure you, our life is never boring, and I have the blog to prove it.

13 weeks

So far, my second trimester has been much like the first. I am still nauseated and tired most days, but I am hoping maybe those symptoms will improve before too long. My growing belly is too large for just about every pair of pants I own, and I have graduated to wearing the bella band. If you are unfamiliar with the bella band, it is basically an expensive tube top that you wear around your waist to hold up your pants that cannot be buttoned any longer. It is a wardrobe piece to wear as you transition to donning actual maternity clothes.

"A" and "B" appear to be doing fine, although we had a scare this week and ended up in the ER. I have a subchorionic hemorrhage, where "B"'s placenta separated from the uterine wall, causing a multitude of bleeding. It was absolutely terrifying. The heavy bleeding ceased after a few hours, although it is not completely resolved. Luckily the babies are still growing well and have good heart rates. However, we have been diagnosed as having a potential miscarriage. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers.

We had planned to go down to Palm Desert for a nice weekend getaway, but due to the events of this week, we are subject house arrest for a few days.

We had a comprehensive ultrasound Friday, and I have attached a few images of the babies.

12 weeks

Another week along, another "inch" bigger. I continue to be nauseated almost all day, everyday and remain overwhelmingly tired. However, rather than eating every 90 minutes to prevent throwing up, I am eating every 90 minutes because I am actually hungry. Maybe that is a change in the positive direction?!
Things with "A" and "B" are going well, as far as I can tell. They are growing and developing like the good little fetuses they are (well behaved already). :) This week's biggest change: reflexes. Their fingers will soon begin to open and close, their toes will curl, and their eye muscles will clench. Apparently if I poke them through my belly they will react, although I still won't be able to feel it.
We have an appt. next Friday so we'll have quite an update next weekend I'm sure.

Baby bumps

Because it is getting harder and harder for me to hide the obvious, and because we are thrilled beyond belief in how we have been blessed, we have chosen to share our excitement and big news with our friends and family. We will be adding to the Lee family in late fall. We are expecting twins in November and the reality of it is both overwhelming and joyous. I am 11 weeks and 1 day along today, and hoping for another good 6 plus months with them inside. So far, I have been feeling pretty typically pregnant; nauseated all day, everyday and very, very exhausted. I've had headaches and body aches, and must eat every 90 minutes or so to keep the throwing up to a minimum.
Yet that all pales in comparison to the miracle that we get to witness each day, as our two beloved little babies are growing inside me. The fact that I am pregnant is still sinking in, although the ever-growing bump on my once flat midsection is a good reminder...

Molly

The biggest event in our lives this year has been the birth of our first niece, Molly Joan McFeron. After a labor that my sister should have gone down in history for getting through, Molly was born weighing in at 8 pounds 12 ounces and measuring 21 inches in length! She is completely healthy and beautiful, and we are enjoying every moment we get to spend with the newest addition to our family.

Honeymoon

For our honeymoon, the new Mr. and Mrs. Lee ventured to Aruba. Although the air travel was long, when we got there, we were able to enjoy the sunshine and warm weather, the Aruban delicacies, the beautiful white sands and crystal clear water, and most of all, each other. We went on a snorkeling adventure, watched baby tortoises being born, and completely relaxed. It was the perfect honeymoon!
